Overview

Bookmark is a book tracker app that allows you to catalogue your books, explore new books, and track your reading habits/progression. Through an algorithmic system, Bookmark recommends additional books based on your previous reading history. Bookmark helps you curate your personal library and shows you crucial information on where to access and find a hard copy of the books you want to read.

Problem Statement

Users who typically prefer to keep physical libraries and hard copies of books want to spend as little time curating their books through an online platform. Online libraries and e-commerce sites often want to keep their consumers on their platforms for as long as possible to ensure more sales. This creates friction with the consumer as those who want to find information about where they can purchase a hard copy of their desired book would rather do so in person.

Key Goal

Give consumers a platform to find local hard copies of desired books, while valuing their time.

Goals

  1. Ensure global navigation is seamless for the user to always have access to their personal library and the explore page.

  2. Reduce the total amount of screens users interact with throughout the app.

  3. Present a simple layout for the users to easily find hard copies of the books they want to read.

  4. Provide simple visual cues for users to track their reading habits
