Design Rationale

In our current media landscape, it is becoming harder to navigate through the endless streams of information. Misinformation, echo chambers and filter bubbles all play a significant role in the hyperpolarization of our citizens. Research shows that media literacy and media education are some of the most effective ways in combating the spread of misinformation. This PSA assignment was designed to meet the audience where they least expect it through a guerilla marketing strategy. This campaign employs the metaphor of comparing food consumption with media consumption. This awareness campaign aims to change consumers’ media consumption habits by getting them to consider fact-checking, critical thinking, and asking questions.
